At SMUK skincare, we believe that you should help where you can. That is why we have chosen to support Joannahuset, which is a fantastic initiative for children and young people under the age of 18. In fact, it is Denmark's very first child and youth crisis centre.
Come as you are
In Joannahuset in Christianshavn, you can come exactly as you are. You do not need to give your name or social security number, no referral or prior agreement is needed, and there are no adults in the house apart from those who work there. You must always take a sibling or a good friend with you who can help you along the way if it is difficult. You can borrow a mobile charger, get a bath, a meal, a few nights' accommodation or clean clothes - it's entirely up to you.
Always ready with what the young people need
When you really need help or support, it is not always at the most appropriate times of the day. And often it is not possible to wait for the phones or the doors to open at 9:00 the next morning. That is why Joannahuset has chosen to be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a week. There is always someone at work who is ready with a helping hand, a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. And it doesn't matter where you come from in the country.
If you are in a situation where you need legal advice, this is also provided - completely free of charge.
We have helped in our own way
SMUK skincare has chosen to help in the way we can, simply by donating some delicious, organic and sustainable products to the house. In practice, this means that it is possible to wash and care for your hands in our nourishing and softening SOAP and CREAM and that, before long, you will have your very own sustainable toiletry bag while you are in Joannahuset.
Feel free to spread the word so that even more people find out that Joanna House exists. Read more about the Joanna House right here.
Thank you to Joannahuset for EVERYTHING you will do for children and young people in the future.
