☀️ What happens to the skin after summer?
The sun's rays (UV), salt water, wind and heat are not just harsh on your skin – they can actually break down the skin's natural moisture barrier.

☀️ What happens to the skin when exposed to UV radiation:
1. Damage to lipids and proteins in the skin barrier
The top layer of the skin, the stratum corneum, consists of dead skin cells (corneocytes) surrounded by lipids (fats) such as ceramides, cholesterol and free fatty acids. These form a barrier that retains moisture and protects against external influences.
UV radiation oxidizes these lipids and proteins, disrupting their structure and function. The result is a weakened barrier that allows more moisture loss.
2. Inflammation and oxidative stress
UV rays cause the formation of free radicals, which destroy cell membranes and our DNA and activate inflammatory processes that weaken the skin's ability to retain moisture.
3. Reduced production of natural moisturizing substances
UV radiation can reduce the amount of NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factors) – substances such as amino acids and lactic acid that bind water in the skin, and ceramides – essential fats that hold skin cells together tightly.

1. Clean and care with care
