The optimal skin

Optimal skin (also called normal skin) is a balanced and well-functioning skin type, where moisture, fat (sebum), cell renewal and the protective barrier work in harmony.
It is skin that is neither too dry, too oily, too sensitive or impure – and requires minimal correction in care.

The optimal skin

Characteristics of optimal skin

  • The skin feels neither tight nor greasy.
  • Sebum production is balanced and provides a natural glow.
  • The pores are small and almost invisible.
  • The skin surface is smooth and soft.
  • No obvious pigment spots, redness or grayish tone.
  • The skin has a healthy, natural radiance.
  • Collagen and elastin are intact, so the skin feels firm and youthful.
  • Rarely acne, blackheads or irritated areas.
  • Resistant to external influences.

Why is the skin "optimal"?

  • The skin's barrier function is intact, which means that it retains moisture and protects against external substances.
  • There is a natural pH balance (typically around 4.7–5.5).
  • Cell renewal occurs at a healthy pace and the skin regenerates effectively.

Optimal skin care

Even though optimal skin is "well-functioning," it still needs maintenance:

  • Daily cleansing to remove makeup, pollution and dead skin cells without disturbing the balance too much. Some people only need to cleanse in the evening.
  • Moisturizer to retain moisture and strengthen the barrier. Preferably with oils that help nourish the skin.
  • Sun protection (SPF 15) daily to prevent damage and aging.
  • Occasional exfoliation, such as with enzymes, which are gentle on the skin barrier, will keep the skin surface fresh and clear.

We can recommend the following routine:

Cleanse: 3IN1 or BALM - enzymes, peptides and moisture
Moisturizing serum: SERUM under face cream - moisture and vitamins
Oil: OIL under face cream or alone in the evening - nutrition and vitamins
Face cream with SPF: LIGHT with SPF15 - protects, nourishes and contains prebiotics
Moisturizing mask: BALM or BODY BUTTER
