Blåstribet beauty bag lavet af vintage premium silke

Beauty bags

BEAUTY BAG FROM SMUK SKINCARE SMUK skincare has designed these soft, sustainable and unique toiletry bags out of vintage Japanese kimonos from the 1920s and 1940s. All materials are 100% natural.Beauty bags are all hand-sewn and upcycled in Copenhagen at a small local tailor who puts together the different silk fabrics, so that all the bags are unique in their own way. She puts all her soul and love into them and hand sews many of the details on them. Our Beauty bags are all with silk on the outside and organic cotton on the inside. The beauty bag comes in two different sizes, and can therefore be used both as a practical make-up purse/toilet bag or as a nice clutch/party bag. They all have a zipper that ensures that no contents fall out and get lost.In order for SMUK skincare itself to follow the design process and ensure proper working conditions for the seamstresses, all Beauty bags are upcycled in Copenhagen. There is therefore no intermediate link apart from the transport from Japan to Denmark. All Beauty bags are unique and with different patterns and colours, and there is therefore only one of each Beauty bag.If the bag gets dirty, it can be washed gently in a wool wash at 30 degrees. When possible, we pick up the old kimonos ourselves in Japan and otherwise we find them in various markets in Europe. We are also happy to buy discarded kimonos with stains or broken seams. We can always find areas on the kimono that are perfect for our Beauty bag. There are always new patterns in the shop, so keep an eye out for the perfect one for you or someone you care about.

Beauty sleep mask

BEAUTY SLEEP MASK FROM SMUK SKINCARE SMUK skincare has designed these soft, sustainable and unique sleeping masks out of vintage Japanese kimonos from the 1920s and 1940s. All materials are 100% natural.Beauty sleep masks are all hand-sewn and upcycled in Copenhagen at a small local tailor who puts together the different silk fabrics, so that all the masks are unique in their own way. She puts all her soul and love into them and hand sews many of the details on them. Our Beauty sleep mask are all with silk inside and out and have a thin layer of wool between the silk fabrics, so the skin can breathe freely. It prevents the skin from "sweating" and impurities from occurring. It also means that they don't get too hot in the summer. All masks are unique and with different patterns and colors, and there is therefore only one of each Beauty sleep mask.If the mask gets dirty, it can be washed gently on a wool wash at 30 degrees. We have opted out of lavender or other soothing things in the mask itself, as we believe it is more important that it can be cleaned, so that bacteria and impurities are avoided. If you wish, they can come in a small silk bag with lavender in it, so that they get a faint scent of lavender, which has a sleep-inducing effect. If you don't want the scent, just remove the lavender branches themselves. Here you are of course welcome to put other delicious scents in e.g. rose petals. In order for SMUK skincare itself to be able to keep up with the design process and ensure proper working conditions for the seamstresses, all Beauty sleep masks are upcycled in Copenhagen. There is therefore no intermediate link apart from the transport from Japan to Denmark. Here you are of course welcome to put other delicious scents in e.g. rose petals.

Smilende kvinde holder en gua sha-sten beauty tool foran øjet

Beauty tools

ORIGINAL HAND GRINDED FACE ROLLERS AND GUA SHA STONES The rollers originate from China, where they have been used for many decades to stimulate microcirculation and musculature in the face. Some call it facial strength training, which you can also use preventively. The Chinese have used them as a beauty ritual. When you strengthen the microcirculation in the skin, you strengthen the cell tissue and after a while you will feel and see the tightening effect. Your skin also gets more glow from the increased blood flow. The gua sha stone works more on the connective tissue itself. Loosens tense muscles and stiff connective tissue. In our connective tissue lies the skin's natural moisture Hyaluron and our collagen, which ensures the elasticity of our connective tissue. Both beauty tools can be used to massage the muscles, loosen stubborn sebum, provide lymphatic drainage, release waste products and increase blood circulation. If you need a quick fix before heading out the door, put it in the fridge before use. Feel free to use it both morning and evening on a cleansed face. It's super effective, if you use it on top of your serum, balm or facial oil, the product will absorb better. That is your skin care routine is optimized by using a beauty tool. Preferably use approx. 5-10 min. also likes to massage/scratch the neck. The small roller on the face roller is perfect for around the eyes and around the lips. Can also be used for facial acupressure. Our beauty tools are of a very fine quality. They are hand-ground and assembled according to the ancient Chinese traditions, so that they retain their energies. We do not use chemicals to get them sharpened. Facial rollers and gua sha stones are available in many different qualities. Many of them are chemically ground or are made of glass and not stone. These rollers and gua sha stones are often somewhat cheaper. They are unique, so they can vary in colour, length, thickness etc. If the facial roller starts to squeak, you can lubricate it with a little vaseline/balm. Do not drop them on the floor, they will break like glass. We recommend using them together with our SERUM, BALM or OIL, so that they can optimize the effect of the products and glide on the skin without tugging at it.

Cellulite skin

Characteristics of cellulite skin The skin takes on a dimpled, "orange peel"-like appearance. Clearly visible, especially when the skin is compressed or in certain positions. Often combined with reduced firmness and elasticity. The skin may feel soft and slightly spongy. Often seen on thighs, buttocks, hips, abdomen and upper arms. What is cellulite? Cellulite occurs when fat deposits under the skin press up against the connective tissue, while fibers (septae) pull the skin downward – this creates bumps and depressions in the skin surface. Cellulite is not the same as being overweight, and even slim people can have it. It is caused by a combination of: Genetics Hormones (especially estrogen) Reduced blood circulation Weaker connective tissue Lifestyle (diet, exercise, smoking, stress = waste products) Degrees of cellulite Grade 1: Only visible when the skin is pressed together. Grade 2: Visible in certain positions and during tension. Grade 3: Visible at all times, both in motion and at rest. Treatment and care Although cellulite cannot be completely removed, it can be improved with: Exercise: Increases blood circulation which helps transport waste products away and muscle tone. Healthy diet: Less sugar, salt and processed food. Massage and lymphatic drainage: Stimulates blood and lymph circulation. Creams with caffeine or retinol: Can temporarily smooth the appearance of the skin. Professional treatments: For example, radiofrequency, laser, shockwave and mesotherapy. Our BODY BUTTER contains ginger which restores skin's suppleness and promotes skin elasticity. With a gua sha you can really create blood circulation, which makes a big difference in the long run. Always use our OIL underneath so that the gua sha glides on the skin and loosens the connective tissue. It hurts at first, but with continued use, the soreness becomes less and less. So does the cellulite.

Dry body skin

Characteristics of dry skin on the body The skin often feels tight, especially after bathing. The surface can be rough and matte. Dry areas may shed fine, white scales. Typically seen on the legs, arms and back. Dry skin often itches – and scratching can worsen the condition and lead to sores. With prolonged dryness or after contact with heat, soap or clothing, you may experience redness and irritation. In severe cases, the skin may crack, especially on the heels, hands, and elbows. Causes of dry skin on the body Cold weather and low humidity (winter skin). Frequent hot baths and soap products, which remove the skin's natural oil layer. Sebum production decreases with age. Skin diseases such as eczema, psoriasis or ichthyosis. Genetics, dehydration, medication or poor diet. Skin care for dry skin on the body Use a mild body soap without synthetic perfume, but preferably with oils and moisturizing ingredients. Use a good, thick moisturizer or oil right after the bath, when the skin is still slightly damp. This will help the product absorb better. Avoid long, hot baths – use lukewarm water. Scrub max. once a week, but it should be gentle. A dry towel also exfoliates a little, as well as a soft dry brush before the bath. Moisturize your skin every day. Our OIL is fantastic for nourishing the skin and can be used under BODY BUTTER, which forms a film on the skin without being greasy. BODY BUTTER contains, among other things, kukui nut oil, which has a fantastic ability to moisturize and retain moisture. OIL contains oils with a small molecular size that can easily penetrate the skin. You can also choose to mix the two products if you feel that the oil has difficulty penetrating dry skin.

Pregnant and stressed hormonal skin

Hormonal changes and their impact on the skin Increased estrogen and progesterone These hormones increase significantly during pregnancy and can lead to: Hyperpigmentation Dark spots (melasma or "pregnancy mask") on the cheeks, forehead and upper lip. In most cases, they disappear when your hormonal balance returns to normal. In the summer, always wear a sun hat and a high sun protection factor. The rest of the year, our LIGHT face cream with SPF15 can be used. Black line A dark line that may appear down the stomach. Increased sebum production Can lead to pregnancy acne, especially in the first trimester. You can benefit from using our LIGHT face cream which contains prebiotics that ensure the best conditions for the skin. Increased blood volume and blood flow Often gives a "pregnancy glow", but can also cause: - Redness and warmth of the skin. - Small visible blood vessels. Hormonally triggered skin diseases - Some pregnant women experience eczema or rosacea. Here we recommend our LIGHT face cream with prebiotics, which helps against eczema and rosacea. - Others may develop specific pregnancy-related skin conditions such as PUPPP (an itchy rash typically on the stomach). Our BODY BUTTER with ginger and kukui can both soothe and keep the skin hydrated. Stress and psychological impact Pregnancy can be emotionally overwhelming, and stress can further affect the skin. - Cortisol (stress hormone) can worsen skin problems such as acne, eczema or psoriasis. - Itching and dry skin can occur as a combination of physical and psychological stress. - Sleep problems and fatigue, which often accompany pregnancy, can cause dull and tired skin as well as dark circles under the eyes. You can remedy some of these problems with our LIGHT , OIL and SERUM for moisture, suppleness and stabilization of the skin. The skin's barrier function - The skin can become more sensitive, react more quickly to products and be more prone to irritation. - Dryness and tightness may occur, especially as the skin stretches on the stomach, chest and thighs. Our BODY BUTTER can prevent dryness and tightness in the skin due to the high content of both saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. Stretch marks - Is caused by both mechanical stretch and hormonal influence on collagen production. - Occurs frequently on the stomach, hips, breasts and thighs. You can only help your skin stay supple to avoid some types of stretch marks. Always make sure your skin is moisturized. We recommend using our BODY BUTTER daily. Massage it well into your skin.

Sensitive and dry skin

Characteristics of sensitive and dry skin The skin constantly feels dry and tight, often immediately after cleansing and throughout the day. Dry areas may flake and feel rough to the touch. Often reacts with redness, burning, tingling or itching. May be aggravated by temperature changes, wind, cosmetics or certain skin care products. The pores are small and almost invisible. The skin may appear transparent or delicate. Many common skin care products can cause discomfort. Often reacts to perfume, alcohol, essential oils (if used in large quantities) and preservatives. Causes Genetics: Some people have naturally thin and sensitive skin. Damaged skin barrier: Dryness, over-exfoliation, or using harsh products can break down the skin's protective layer. Climatic conditions: Cold, windy and low humidity worsen both dryness and sensitivity. Internal factors: Stress, hormonal changes or skin conditions such as rosacea or atopic eczema can have an impact. Skincare recommendations Mild products – preferably with active ingredients that soothe sensitive skin. Our BALM is very mild and can be used both for daily cleansing, a moisturizing mask, in a thin layer under your face cream or alone at night. Moisturizer with soothing and moisture-binding ingredients seam: Glycerin, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, panthenol (B5), squalane and peptides. Our LIGHT face cream contains hyaluronic acid, B5, marine peptides and prebiotics which are great for maintaining an optimal skin barrier and moisturizing and nourishing the skin. You can use our SERUM under the face cream to provide even more moisture and vitality. Avoid alcohol and synthetic perfumes. We only use natural fragrances in our products. Daily sun protection – choose a physical/mineral-based sunscreen (e.g. with zinc oxide) to minimize reaction. Use SPF 15 year-round and SPF 30 during the summer.

Smuk Skincare-grundlæggeren Heidi Maltby med sit udvalg af økologiske hudplejeprodukter

Skin care

A PASSION FOR PURE AND NATURAL PRODUCTS The idea behind SMUK skincare is to create a Danish, natural and organic skincare range with consideration for sustainability, the environment and the next generation. This applies to both the content, packaging and the entire manufacturing process from AZ. All products from SMUK skincare are packed with active ingredients, vitamins and antioxidants - the ingredients are of the highest quality and carefully selected based on effect and fragrance. Our goal is for you to feel pampered when you use the products - you should enjoy the scents and really feel the texture and effect that our products have. Together, this is what gives the products a delicious skin-feel. As a skin therapist and owner of the clinic Naturlig Smuk, Heidi has countless women on the couch every day, and she often uses her own products in her facial treatments. Clients are also allowed to test the products during development, so Heidi is constantly updated on the scent, feel, texture and effect of the products. Most of the products are filled in Miron glass bottles that allow the violet sunlight to penetrate. through the glass. This way it extends the life of the products and the freshness of the vitamins. All products are processed as little as possible, and we always strive to preserve the natural, active and organic ingredients. We only use natural color and perfume, and the natural scent therefore comes from real flowers, plants and herbs. If a product smells of lavender, then it contains real lavender extract and not a synthetically produced lavender scent. The same applies to the colors and shine in our products - the golden color in OIL comes from sea buckthorn and wild blueberries, while the shiny effect in GOLDEN MOMENTS comes from the natural mineral MICA. The foaming effect in SOAP comes from coconut and not from sulfates. We often use many of our oils as a preservative, as the vitamins in the oils naturally preserve. However, in some products it may be necessary to add other preservatives to prevent unwanted microorganisms, but it is always in a low concentration.

Sun-damaged skin

Unlike an acute sunburn, sun-damaged skin occurs gradually through repeated UV exposure and can over time cause permanent changes in the structure and appearance of the skin. Often seen as pigment spots, also known as age spots. Sometimes these spots can be thickened and rough. Sun damage can take up to 15-30 years to surface. Characteristics of sun-damaged skin Sunspots (lentigines): Dark spots, especially on the face, hands, chest and shoulders. Hyper- and hypopigmentation: Some areas become darker, while others lose color. Loss of collagen and elastin causes wrinkles, fine lines and sagging. The skin often takes on a “leathery” appearance, especially on the face and on the neck, chest and forearms. The skin feels uneven, dry, or rough. May be thicker and less elastic. Fine, red blood vessels may become visible, especially on the cheeks and nose. Actinic keratoses: Small, rough and scaly spots – often a precursor to skin cancer. Increased risk of basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma. What happens in the skin? UVB rays damage the DNA of cells → increases the risk of mutations and skin cancer. UVA rays penetrate deeper and destroy collagen and elastin → leading to premature aging (photoaging). Free radicals form in the skin and damage cells over time. Prevention and treatment Use daily sun protection SPF 15 all year round. In the summer months, turn up the strength and use SPF 30 and SPF 50 in very exposed areas. Always apply twice with approx. 10 min. intervals. This way you ensure optimal protection. Avoid excessive sunbathing and tanning beds. Tanning beds correspond to a UV index of 12. Also requires high sun protection. Protect your skin with clothing, a hat and shade. Avoid the sun's rays between 12-3 pm, when the UV index is highest. Treatment Use creams daily that contain vitamin A. They stimulate cell renewal and collagen. Use products that contain a variety of antioxidants (vitamins C and E). They protect against free radicals. Moisturizing products – improve skin comfort and barrier. Laser treatment can remove damaged skin and improve skin tone. But the DNA damage has happened. Our LIGHT face cream contains natural vitamin A as well as vitamins C and E. It also contains hyaluronic acid, which is very moisturizing. To optimize the supply of antioxidants and moisture, we recommend using our SERUM under your face cream. Our OIL can be really nice to use in the evening or under your day cream for extra protection and it is packed with antioxidants. BODY BUTTER contains ginger and kukui nut oil which helps soothe sun-damaged skin. Can also be used as an active moisturizing mask. Risks and long-term effects: Repeated sunburns increase the risk of skin cancer (especially melanoma). Promotes premature skin aging: wrinkles, pigment spots, sagging skin. Weakens the skin's immune defense and barrier function.

The dry skin

Characteristics of dry skin The skin often feels tight, especially after cleansing. May feel "too small" for the face. Lacks natural shine. May look grayish or dull. Dryness accentuates lines and makes the skin uneven. May flake, especially on the cheeks, nose and forehead. The pores are almost invisible as the skin does not produce much sebum. The skin is more vulnerable and reacts easily to weather, products or perfumes. Often sensitive to temperature fluctuations and drying ingredients. Causes of dry skin Genetics: Some people are born with dry skin type. Age: The skin's natural oil production decreases with age. Environment: Cold, low humidity, wind and air conditioning can dry out the skin. Improper skin care: Over-cleansing, using harsh products or too little moisturizing. Internal factors: Lack of fluid, nutrients or certain diseases. Skincare recommendations for dry skin Mild, moisturizing cleansers (avoid foaming or drying soaps). Our BALM can be used as a mild nourishing cleanser. Our 3IN1 is a gel-based cleanser that contains papaya enzymes and marine peptides, so it is not drying, but not nourishing. Moisturizers with nourishing ingredients such as: Hyaluronic acid (binds moisture) Glycerin, shea butter, ceramides and squalane Use oil or balm as a supplement, especially during cold periods. Our face cream LIGHT contains hyaluronic acid, kukui nut oil and prebiotics that strengthen the skin barrier. Our OIL works great either under or on top of LIGHT, as it contains a lot of delicious oils with a small molecule size, so it can easily penetrate the dry surface. Avoid alcohol-based and synthetically perfumed products. All our products do not contain alcohol or synthetic perfumes. Our scents come from the essential oils we use in the products. We stick to as few fragrances as possible and are between 0.5-1.2% in our products. Use sunscreen daily. Preferably SPF15 in the winter months and SPF30 when the sun is out, as the sun also dries out and ages the skin. You can use a gua sha or a dermaroller to help the products penetrate better. Very dry skin often has difficulty with products penetrating.

The mature skin

Characteristics of mature skin Visible lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead. Wrinkles become deeper with age. The skin loses its elasticity and begins to "sag". This is due to the breakdown of collagen and elastin. Less fullness and thickness in the skin layers. Increased risk of dryness and irritation. Sebum production decreases with age. The skin loses moisture and can feel tight and uneven. Age spots and hyperpigmentation (sun spots) become more prominent. The skin may appear greyish or dull in tone. The skin regenerates more slowly, which can give a tired and lifeless surface. Reasons for the changes Intrinsic aging (genetics): A natural process in which cell activity in the skin decreases. External factors: UV radiation (photoaging), pollution, smoking, stress and diet play a major role in how quickly the skin ages. Hormonal changes: Menopause in particular leads to changes in skin structure and moisture. Estrogen plays a huge role in the skin. Skincare recommendations for mature skin Use products with active ingredients such as: Retinol or the more natural A vitamins and peptides (stimulates collagen production). Hyaluronic acid or squalane (provides moisture and volume) Antioxidants (vitamin C, vitamin E – protect against free radicals) Our SERUM contains, among other things, natural vitamin A, vitamin C that gives glow and evens out pigment changes, vitamin E for healing, vitamin D that soothes, as well as hyaluronic acid and marine peptides. Exfoliation to promote cell renewal. Our 3IN1 is both a daily cleanser, but can be used once a week for exfoliation. Papaya enzymes gently remove dead skin cells and pave the way for the marine peptides it also contains. It is therefore also a moisturizing mask. Always use sunscreen (SPF 15-30) daily. Preferably physical filters that are 100% natural and do not block pores or leave a layer of chemicals on the skin all day. Moisturize with rich creams and serums that strengthen the skin barrier. Our LIGHT face cream contains only nourishing oils and moisture as well as SPF15 of physical filters. Our BODY BUTTER contains many active ingredients and is a thick cream that can also be used as a face mask.

The oily skin

Characteristics of oily skin Shiny or shiny skin, especially in the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin). The skin may feel thick and rough. Large and clearly visible pores. The pores can often be clogged, which increases the risk of blackheads (comedones) and pimples (papules). Increased risk of acne, especially on the face, chest and back. Makeup tends to slip off or disappear quickly. Skin may require powdering or moisturizing throughout the day to reduce shine. Feeling The skin may feel oily, especially towards the afternoon. It can also feel tight after cleansing or at the same time become oily if drying products are used. Causes of oily skin Genetics: Often hereditary. Hormones: Hormonal fluctuations (puberty, menstruation, pregnancy) can increase sebum production. Diet and lifestyle: A diet high in fat and sugar, stress or lack of sleep can affect the skin's balance. Improper skin care: Over-cleansing or using drying products can cause the skin to produce more oil as compensation. Benefits of oily skin Tends to age more slowly and develops fewer fine lines and wrinkles. Sebum production provides a natural barrier that protects the skin from drying out. Skincare recommendations Use mild, gentle cleansing products that remove excess oil without drying out the skin. Here we can recommend 3IN1 which cleanses but also contains marine peptides so it doesn't dry out. Avoid products with alcohol, as they can worsen the problem. Always use a good moisturizing serum with e.g. vitamin A and hyaluronic acid, to ensure that the skin does not dry out and start to overproduce sebum. Vitamin A helps maintain the cells' natural balance. Our SERUM contains all the vitamins your skin needs as well as hyaluronic acid. Choose non-comedogenic products. That is, natural products that do not contain mineral ingredients. It is beneficial to use products with oils in them to avoid tightness and optimize the skin barrier, but they must be vegetable-based. Our LIGHT face cream moisturizes, nourishes and contains prebiotics that strengthen the microbiome of the cells. Our 3IN1 is an oil-free cleanser and gentle daily peel. Many people with oily skin conditions love it. Use moisturizers. You can never have enough moisture :-) Exfoliate regularly with enzymes or fruit acids to keep pores clean. Our 3IN1 contains papaya enzymes that remove dead skin cells and create channels into the skin layers so that the marine peptides can moisturize the skin more optimally.

The optimal skin

Characteristics of optimal skin The skin feels neither tight nor greasy. Sebum production is balanced and provides a natural glow. The pores are small and almost invisible. The skin surface is smooth and soft. No obvious pigment spots, redness or grayish tone. The skin has a healthy, natural radiance. Collagen and elastin are intact, so the skin feels firm and youthful. Rarely acne, blackheads or irritated areas. Resistant to external influences. Why is the skin "optimal"? The skin's barrier function is intact, which means that it retains moisture and protects against external substances. There is a natural pH balance (typically around 4.7–5.5). Cell renewal occurs at a healthy pace and the skin regenerates effectively. Optimal skin care Even though optimal skin is "well-functioning," it still needs maintenance: Daily cleansing to remove makeup, pollution and dead skin cells without disturbing the balance too much. Some people only need to cleanse in the evening. Moisturizer to retain moisture and strengthen the barrier. Preferably with oils that help nourish the skin. Sun protection (SPF 15) daily to prevent damage and aging. Occasional exfoliation, such as with enzymes, which are gentle on the skin barrier, will keep the skin surface fresh and clear. We can recommend the following routine: Cleanse: 3IN1 or BALM - enzymes, peptides and moisture Moisturizing serum: SERUM under face cream - moisture and vitamins Oil: OIL under face cream or alone in the evening - nutrition and vitamins Face cream with SPF: LIGHT with SPF15 - protects, nourishes and contains prebiotics Moisturizing mask: BALM or BODY BUTTER

The sensitive and irritated skin on the body

Characteristics of sensitive and irritated skin on the body The skin may appear red, especially after touching, washing, or shaving. It often feels hot and "stressed". The skin often itches and can burn, especially if it becomes dry or exposed to perfume, wool, heat or cold. Dryness and rough surfaces often worsen the irritation. Reactions to external influences can lead to temporary outbreaks, such as red spots or small itchy bumps. Does not tolerate perfume, alcohol, dyes, synthetic clothing or temperature fluctuations. Causes Weak or damaged skin barrier: Makes the skin more susceptible to the penetration of irritants. Skin diseases: Such as atopic eczema, rosacea or contact dermatitis. Frequent washing or improper care: Too much soap, hot water or rough sponges. Environmental influences: Cold, dry air, sun or pollution. Hormonal changes or stress. Skin care for sensitive and irritated skin on the body Use soap-free, perfume-free and pH-neutral products. Take short, lukewarm baths instead of long, hot ones. Moisturizer or balm several times a day. Without synthetic perfume or overly strong essential oils. Cotton or bamboo clothing can be nice. Avoid wool and synthetic materials. Avoid scratching, as it worsens irritation and can lead to sores or infection. Our BALM contains squalane which is very moisturizing. No perfume, but smells faintly of mandarin. It contains both unsaturated and essential fatty acids as well as several antioxidants. Kukui nut oil, which forms a film on the skin that retains moisture.

The young hormonal skin

Characteristics of young hormonal skin Pimples (papules), blackheads (comedones), cysts and pustules – especially in the T-zone of the face (forehead, nose and chin). Imperfections can also occur on the back, chest, and shoulders. Increased sebum production which results in shiny skin, especially in the middle of the day when skin cells are shed. Makeup has a hard time staying put. The pores appear enlarged and can become clogged with sebum and dead skin cells. Inflammatory eruptions (red, tender pimples). The skin may be sensitive to harsh products. Skin can alternate between oily and dry, depending on hormonal cycles, diet, sleep and stress. Causes of hormonal imbalance in the skin Puberty: Increase in androgenic hormones (especially testosterone) increases sebum production. Menstrual cycle: Many people experience breakouts before or during menstruation or at ovulation. Birth control pills or hormonal disorders (e.g. PCOS) can also affect the skin. Stress: Increases cortisol levels → worsens acne and oily skin. Skincare for young hormonal skin Mild but effective cleanser that removes excess sebum, pollution and dead skin cells. Moisturizer that moisturizes well and is non-comedogenic (non-clogging) like mineral oils. Always use organic vegetable oils. Active ingredients that can help: Salicylic acid (BHA) or enzymes that dissolve sebum and clean pores. Niacinamide regulates sebum and soothes the skin. Zinc, which is highly antibacterial and sebum-regulating. Can be taken as a dietary supplement. Benzoyl peroxide which kills acne bacteria (use with caution and always consult your beautician or dermatologist first). Our 3IN1 is a mild cleanser with enzymes and marine peptides, so it cleanses effectively without drying out. Our face cream is highly recommended for skin in imbalance. It contains only vegetable oils and prebiotics that support and help the cells with their natural microbiome. It also soothes with niacinamide. Oily and shiny skin needs plenty of moisture. So our SERUM can help with this due to the high level of hyaluronic acid and natural vitamin A, which repairs the cells. Avoid over-treatment: Over-cleansing and drying products can worsen the imbalance.
